For those of you wondering, “index” is another name for the database used by a search engine. So “to index” a page is to have it added to that database. In other words, Google has discovered your page. A lot of people think of link reclamation as just 301’ing pages they have moved that still have a lot of great backlinks.

Find out which pages on your competitor’s site are bringing in the most backlinks, social shares, and traffic. Having more pages that are optimized for different keywords gives you increased opportunity for traffic. It doesn't necessarily mean more traffic, though, since it depends on how popular and how competitive those new keywords are.
